Annapolis Sailors Network

Introducing a FUN RACING series,
sponsored by the
Chesapeake Racer Cruiser Association (CRCA).

This series is intended to provide an
entry level experience that focuses on
great destinations, fun parties
and a little bit of racing.
Other than event registration fees
there is no cost to enter this series.

The structure of these races recognizes the steep learning curve that is sailboat racing

  • ·      Handicaps that reflect experience
  • ·      Pursuit starts that minimize the congestion and anxiety
  • ·      Focus on getting everyone to the party at the same time
We will be setting up an opportunity for ASN sailors to learn more about CRCA (and CHESSS too) soon.  One important thing to note is that participating in a CRCA race in the 'fun class', you don't need a PHRF or ORC rating.  CRCA will provide a rating for you.

Contact Jay Tyson to join CRCA, provide him the info about your boat required, and he will provide you an ARC rating (at no cost).  Email Jay at

Note:  it is possible that the Hospice Cup may be added to the 'fun series' too.
