Take the helm, stand bow watch or just relax and soak up the sun - join us for adventurous sail on board the spacious Bavaria 46 foot, 4 cabin, 2 bathroom sailing yacht. We will sail from Stockholm’s centre and explore the fabulous archipelago. Our licensed skipper and yacht owner, Scott, is an American who has been living in Sweden for decades with over 25 years experiences. He knows the ins and outs and hidden places of the archipelago and enjoys a gift for guiding and teaching those who want to learn about sailing.

Explore island villages, hike, kayak the calm waters. At night we will anchor in secluded covers or moor in quaint harbors and explore nature, or the shops and restaurants ashore. Meals on board are cooked communally in the yacht’s ample galley. Usually we take breakfast and lunch on board.

Stockholm Archipelago is the largest of all. This is a group of island spread over 80 km east of Stockholm and out into the Baltic Sea. It is one of the most loved holiday destinations for Swedes and yachting enthusiasts from all over, because the water is very calm and the scenery is Nordic and stunningly beautiful. If you like Scandinavia, this is the place for you! More info at www.stockholmtown.com. The following are some islands we can explore.

Vaxholm is an idyllic island characterized by a 17th Century fortress that now houses a museum. A walk through picturesque harbor includes painted wooden houses from the turn of the century, and cafes and shops.

Finnhamm is a 900m long island, combines lush woods and meadows with sheltered covers, rocky cliffs and visiting eagle owls. Activities include a beachside-sauna, kayaks, and day hikes. Walking trails cover most of the island. At the harbor there is a little shop.

Sandhamn is an island where you can experience the remarkable maritime terrain of the outer archipelago. The village is an historical sea pilot station with an inn, the classic Royal Swedish Yacht Club and numerous restaurants and bars. Utö is the star of the archipelago’s southern section. Uto has it all: sublime sandy beaches, lush fairy-tale forests, sleepy farms, abundant farm life and highly rated restaurant.

Utö’s network of roads and tracks make for heavenly cycling sessions on a bike rented to explore for the day.

Dalarö is the southern archipelago and was a popular holiday spot with artists and royalty in the 19th century and has many narrow and winding streets to explore.

There are also lots of cafes, shops, restaurants and beaches. Visit the Combine your sailing adventure with a visit to Stockholm and other European cities. Easy connections are available.

Onboard the yacht- The cost for the trip for 7 days and nights will be $1175 pp, double occupancy cabin. Included is captain and optional sailing instructions. Food provisions, meals, dock fees, fuel and taxes are NOT included.
